Well, "they" seem to think that creation is so obviously wondrous that Intelligence/god/godess MUST have done it. Sorry, but where did the creator come from? That is now harder to explain than what we started with. If you can be agnostic about that, don't let's leave out the fairies and trolls.
The simplest thing to postulate is that we started with matter & energy. They "just are". physics + chemistry = biology.
Inventing stuff a long time ago does not make it any more possible. Even if they were ignorant {relative to now} desert tribesmen.
If a god did it, {s}he would have used evolution. It is obviously how it was done.
